Your First Bowl:<\/strong>
We recommend that your first singing bowl be a versatile size<\/strong>, ideally between 700 g and 1.2 kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Relationship Between Size and Sound in Tibetan Bowls:<\/strong>
Bowls under 500 g<\/strong> produce high-pitched tones<\/strong>, while larger bowls<\/strong> generate deeper and more resonant sounds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Playing or \u201csinging\u201d a Tibetan bowl is not always easy \u2014 it requires some practice and technique<\/strong>.
Start by making gentle, circular movements<\/strong> with light but steady pressure<\/strong>. As you increase the pressure, you\u2019ll begin to hear a soft tone<\/strong>. Once that tone appears, gradually increase the pressure<\/strong> to amplify it.
It\u2019s important that the mallet does not vibrate<\/strong>, which can be achieved by maintaining firm and consistent contact<\/strong> between the mallet and the bowl.<\/p>\n

Types of Tibetan Bowls from Tibet Import<\/strong><\/h3>\n

There are several quality grades of bowls:<\/p>\n

    7 Metals:<\/strong> The finest quality, composed of approximately 85% copper<\/strong>, 15% tin<\/strong>, and traces (1%)<\/strong> of other metals such as iron<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    5 Metals:<\/strong> Contain a higher proportion of tin, producing sharper tones<\/strong> with shorter resonance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Aluminum Bowls:<\/strong> The most economical; often painted in bright Buddhist colors<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    For therapeutic use<\/strong> such as sound healing<\/strong>, we recommend the 7-metals quality<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

      Composition of high-quality 7-metal Tibetan bowls:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        Copper (85%)<\/strong> is the main element, responsible for the vibration<\/strong>, giving the sound depth, sustain, and intensity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        Tin (15%)<\/strong> provides strength and solidity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        The remaining trace elements (less than 1%)<\/strong>, such as iron<\/strong>, contribute to tonal richness.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

        Our Tibetan Bowls<\/strong> are made with a significant wall thickness<\/strong> \u2014 this is intentional, as thickness directly affects the duration and resonance<\/strong> of the sound.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
