Full Moon Tibetan Bowl – Extra Thick 2.75 KG
Handcrafted 7-Metal Bowl from Nepal

  • Weight: 2500–300 g

  • Diameter: approx. 28 cm

  • Includes: leather mallet and wooden ring cushion (see photo)

  • This bowl has been carefully selected to resonate beautifully when played with a leather mallet.

These special Full Moon bowls (Jumka type) have extra thickness, which stabilizes the notes, extends the sound, and creates rich harmonics.

Full Moon or “Luna Llena” bowls are considered the highest-quality Tibetan bowls, prized for their sound and harmonic richness.

The hand-engraved Full Moon symbol identifies them. Our bowls are usually accompanied by a mantra and the symbol of the artisan family who crafted them.

Full Moon bowls are traditionally made only in Nepal, and the quality of the engraving clearly distinguishes them.

Each bowl is individually tested by Tibet Import before selection in the country of origin.

These 7-metal Tibetan bowls are chosen for their deep, balanced, and long-lasting sound, making them ideal for musicians, therapists, relaxation, and meditation induction.

Features of Tibet Import Tibetan Bowls:

  • There are different qualities of bowls; “7 metals” is the finest. It is an alloy of copper and tin with traces of other metals.

  • Our 7-metal Tibetan bowls are handcrafted, hammered, and hand-rounded. This is visible in the slight imperfections on the surface, reflecting the hammer marks. This is important because it shows the metal is soft, producing long-lasting, deep vibrations.

  • Copper is the main element responsible for the vibration, giving the sound its duration and intensity.

  • Our Tibetan bowls are intentionally thick, as thickness strongly affects the duration and intensity of the sound.

Your First Bowl:
We recommend that your first bowl be versatile; a size between 700 g and 1.2 kg is usually the most suitable.

Size and Sound in Tibetan Bowls:
Bowls under 500 g produce higher-pitched tones, while larger bowls generate deeper, more resonant sounds.

Playing a Tibetan Bowl:
Rubbing or striking a Tibetan bowl is not always easy and requires some technique. Start with circular motions and gentle, consistent pressure. As you increase the pressure, you may hear a faint sound. Once the sound appears, gradually increase the pressure to amplify it. It’s important to prevent the mallet from vibrating, which can be controlled by adjusting the pressure between the mallet and the bowl.
